Data Use Policy

Last updated on June 3, 2026.

This Data Use Policy explains in plain terms how MAESON Technologies LLC collects, processes, retains, and protects data generated through your use of our software, platforms, APIs, and related services (the "Service"). It supplements our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

For full details on personal data collection and your privacy rights, please read our Privacy Policy. For the terms governing your use of the Service, see our Terms of Service. If you have questions, contact us at support@maeson.tech.

1. Types of Data We Process

Input Data: Content you submit to the Service including prompts, messages, files, code, documents, images, and any other data you provide when using the Service.

Output Data: Content generated by the Service in response to your Inputs, including code, text, analysis, recommendations, extracted information, and other results.

Account Data: Information associated with your account such as your name, email address, organization, billing details, and account preferences.

Usage Data: Automatically collected technical data including API request logs, feature usage patterns, error reports, session metadata, timestamps, and performance metrics.

Integration Data: Data transmitted through third-party integrations, webhooks, or connected services that you configure with the Service.

2. How We Use Your Data

Service Delivery: We use your Input and Output Data to provide the features and functionality of the Service you have requested, including processing uploaded files such as images and PDFs to extract and analyze their contents.

AI Model Providers: MAESON Technologies uses third-party AI model providers — including OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google — to power certain features of the Service. When you use AI-powered features, your inputs and the resulting outputs may be transmitted to one or more of these providers to generate a response. Each provider operates under its own terms of service and privacy policy. Some providers may temporarily access or store inputs and outputs for purposes such as safety review, compliance, or inference performance. MAESON Technologies does not control how third-party providers handle data once it is transmitted to them.

Security and Integrity: We analyze Usage Data to detect abuse, unauthorized access, fraud, and policy violations. This includes automated systems and, in limited cases, human review.

Support and Troubleshooting: When you contact support or when errors occur, we may access relevant data to diagnose and resolve issues.

Product Improvement: We use aggregated, de-identified Usage Data to understand how the Service is used, identify areas for improvement, and develop new features.

Compliance: We may process and retain data as required by applicable law, legal process, or regulatory obligations.

3. AI Model Training

MAESON Technologies does not use your Input Data or Output Data to train AI models without your explicit consent.

We do not permit third-party model providers — including OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google — to use your Input Data or Output Data to train their AI models.

Feedback you voluntarily submit may be used to improve model quality and system performance. If you submit content through a bug report or safety review process, that content may be used solely to improve our detection and enforcement systems.

If a specific product or feature offers optional data contribution for model improvement, this will be clearly disclosed and requires your affirmative opt-in.

4. File Processing

Certain features of the Service allow you to upload files — such as images and PDFs — for processing. When you submit a file, MAESON Technologies transmits it to our servers where its contents are extracted and analyzed to generate a response or output.

Uploaded file contents are not permanently stored beyond what is necessary to complete the request and are never used as training data.

If a file contains personal data, that data may be processed as part of the request. You should avoid uploading files containing sensitive personal information unless necessary for your use case.

5. Codebase Indexing

MAESON Technologies offers features that allow you to index a codebase to enable context-aware assistance across your project. When you choose to index a codebase, files are uploaded to our servers in segments and processed to generate embeddings — numerical representations of code content used to power search and context features.

Plaintext file contents used to compute embeddings are not retained after the indexing request is completed. The resulting embeddings, along with metadata such as file names and structural identifiers, may be stored in our database to support the ongoing operation of indexing features.

Codebase indexing is opt-in. You are in control of what is indexed and can remove indexed data at any time through your account settings.

6. Server-Side Caching

To reduce latency and improve performance, MAESON Technologies may temporarily cache file contents on our servers during an active session. Cached content is encrypted using keys that exist only for the duration of the request.

Cached file contents are temporary, are not permanently stored, and are never used as training data.

7. Data Retention

We retain data for as long as necessary to provide the Service, fulfill the purposes described in this policy, and meet our legal obligations.

Account Data is retained for the duration of your account and for a reasonable period after closure to handle billing disputes, legal claims, or regulatory requirements.

Input and Output Data retention periods depend on the features you use. Some features process data transiently without persistent storage; others retain data to support session history, collaboration, or compliance needs.

Usage Data is typically retained in identifiable form for a limited period for security and debugging, then aggregated or deleted.

You may request deletion of your data at any time. See Section 9 for details.

8. Data Security

MAESON Technologies implements technical and organizational measures designed to protect your data against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction.

These measures include encryption in transit and at rest, access controls and authentication requirements, security monitoring and logging, and regular review of our security practices.

No system is completely secure. If you believe your account or data has been compromised, contact us immediately at support@maeson.tech.

9. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export personal data we hold about you.

You may request to opt out of certain uses of your data, including communications and any optional data contribution programs.

To exercise your rights or submit a data request, contact us at support@maeson.tech. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

Deletion requests may result in loss of access to the Service or certain features. Some data may be retained after deletion to meet legal obligations or resolve disputes.

10. Data Sharing

We do not sell your data.

We share data with service providers who assist in operating the Service, such as cloud infrastructure providers, payment processors, and security vendors. These providers access only the data necessary to perform their services and are contractually bound to protect it.

We may share data in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with appropriate notice and subject to confidentiality obligations.

We disclose data when required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of MAESON Technologies, our users, or the public.

If your account is part of an organizational or team plan, administrators of that account may have access to certain account and usage information as described in your agreement with us.

Even if you connect your own API keys for third-party model providers, your requests will still be routed through the MAESON Technologies backend. This is necessary for prompt construction, security checks, and feature delivery.

11. Third-Party Services and Integrations

The Service may connect to third-party platforms and tools at your direction. MAESON Technologies is not responsible for the data practices of third-party services.

When you enable an integration, you authorize the transmission of relevant data to that third party. Review the privacy policies of any connected services before enabling integrations.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Data Use Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by updating the date on this page, sending a notice to your registered email address, or posting an in-product notice.

Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
